Currently Craving: White Chaandbalis

Women are notorious for their cravings... be it pickles, chocolate, icecream or any other type of dessert or any finger licking good food for that mater. You name it and women will pull out all the stops until they fulfill their cravings. But no this post isn't about food as it may seem so!

Well, it is about my current craving for..... this lovely chaandbaali that Deepika Padukone sported during a promotional event of her latest movie Chennai Express

Lovely aint it?
Oh these drop dead gorgeous earrings just refuse to fade into the dark abyss of my mind, where the other important information usually (that must be remembered) goes straight in! (lol)

To extinguish this undying desire of mine, I've done all I could from hunting every site and shop, in the hope of spotting this lovely earring. Did she custom-order this or what, I wonder at times? And when I realized I may not be able to own an exact replica of these, I cajoled myself to own a chandbaali with white pearl at least. Remember the Ayush shampoo ad: 'adjust kar lo!'

But in vain!

So now this is a call to all the lovely ladies - do you know any site that sells nice and large chaandbalis with white pearl which looks similar?

And in case you know, will you please  mention the name in the comments section below with the approx. price? I just hope I dont have to burn a big hole in my pocket for these super lovely earrings. :)

I want this at any cost :P

FOTD with Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick No. 20

It is often said: if you want or desire something with all your heart, the universe works for you and gives it you eventually. Well, right now I can completely feel that euphoric feeling , when the Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick no. 20 landed in my hands, thanks to the universe. :P I know you must be thinking what the….! But seriously girls, the lipstick got added to my stash that accidentally and this is how.

The never-ending desire to get this lipstick was born when I read Poorna's review (a wonderful food and beauty blogger from Kolkata) in a well–known beauty blog and I instantly fell in love with the color. As I was already looking to add a bright fuchsia lipstick to my collection, the Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick no. 20 seemed like manna from the heaven at that wow price! Immediately I checked slassy.com but the OOS notice put me off initially and fuelled my desire to have it tenfold.

Months went by and then one day, I read Agnirupa's (a blog contributor from Kolkata and a very sweet girl) FB update about some products she wanted to sell. Of course most of them were taken, except the Kate Moss lipstick no. 20. I messaged her to block it for myself readily and the confirmation message from Agnirupa helped me realize my dream finally. Am I getting a tad too dramatic here? Cannot help you know ... :) I could not resist the wait and was eager to receive the parcel at the earliest.

I loved everything about the lippy. Its packaging, the Kate Moss signature.. every bit about the lippy caught me hook, line and sinker!

I swatched the lipstick in no time and admired its intense color with great joy. I wore it to every event I could, including the Ganeshotsav dinner party held at my residential complex. The pic you see below is taken after I returned home that night from the dinner party. I simply love the color and I know this love will grow by the day.

What about you? Do you love any make-up product this crazily, deeply or madly?

Review: Maybelline 24 hour Colour Tattoo Bold Gold shade and a EOTD

The 24 hour color tattoos have stolen everyone's heart. And I wonder why it took me this long to own one of these tiny beauties. Anyways, now that I own a shade from this range, let me straight away come to the point.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hour eye shadow in the shade Bold Gold is out and out meant for glittery events in the night. However, the bolder lot can tweak it to apply during the day, in which case you'll need to apply this shade very sparingly over the eyelids, to show only a hint of this.

Let me tell you why. The Bold Gold color tattoo looks like a pot of gold and when I applied this in generous amount on my eyelids, I looked a la Parveen Babi or Zeenat Aman all ready to perform a disco number from the 80s Hindi movies. Yeah this shade is very gawdy and glittery when applied in generous amount. So the trick to apply this shade (if you do not want to wear it for glittery events in the night) would be to - take little of this product and then play around.

The texture is quite soft and smooth and can be applied on the lids quite easily without tugging  or pulling. And as I just said, the pigmentation is very good, which means so you need to know how much to apply as a little more of it could make you look very very blingy. The pic below will make the point clearer.

Pls ignore the undone eyebrows. :P
However I have one complaint though about this eye shadow. After drying it creates a very rough look on the eyelids, making the eyes look like a crumpled paper. This can be a bane for women with dry and wrinkled eye area. It could make you look quite aged and dull. The shade is loaded with shimmer.

I did not like it though for two reasons: firstly, I didn't like the look it imparted after the shadow dried and secondly, I was looking for something like Bad to the Bronze which was out of stock sadly. So I'm thinking of giving it away pretty soon.

Lastly, it is really long-lasting, in fact it refuses to go off the eyelids unless you use a make up remover or make-up removing oil to remove this product completely.

On a different note:

Would you like to buy this eye shadow that has been swatched once only for this EOTD? Or better would you like to swap your Maybelline Bad to the Bronze color tattoo with this one? (I'm not kidding at all.)

 Price: INR 350/-
